Job Descriptions:Continental Tide Defense Systems, Inc. is actively seeking a motivated, energetic, and detail-oriented individual for our Facility Security Officer (FSO) position. The successful candidate will join our Facility Security Team currently supporting initiatives for Naval Sea Systems Command, U.S. Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command, and other DoD organizations. Job summary: The FSO shall maintain the functions and day-to-day operations of the Security Department for the company from our Virginia Beach, VA office. In this position you will be accountable for the companys compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP). Ensure employee access, badge, credentialing records and files are complete and up to date with required documentation. The FSO will serve as the primary contact for interfacing with government and other contractor security representatives. Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily implementation and execution of the National Industrial Security Program Operation Manual (NISPOM)
  • Develop, administer, and audit security programs for compliance with government regulations associated with the protection of classified material and export-controlled data
  • Initiate new personnel and maintain existing personnel personal security clearances and visit request through DISS
  • Prepare and submit SHVRS (Ship Visit Request), DBIDS, Command and shipyard badge requests nationwide and OCONUS for a one-hundred-person plus organization (approximate -continued growth is anticipated)
  • Verify background check information, submit, and manage background check documents
  • Conduct regular audits of employee background investigations and credentials to ensure compliance, timely renewals, and submission of required paperwork
  • Manage visitor logs, badge issuance, and return at our facilities.
  • Prepare correspondence, maintain records, and file system for employee Passports, drivers license, Badges, credentials etc.
  • Create, modify, and terminate profiles within the access control and credentialing systems/database.
  • Provide initial, refresher and foreign briefings
  • Maintain a Security Awareness Training and Insider Threat Program
  • Report all suspicious contacts
  • Report all adverse information
  • Maintain and update databases SWFT, NISS, and DISS
  • Respond to security inquires, training, briefings and annual DCSA Facility Self-Inspections and Security Audits
  • Conduct regular audits of employee background investigations to ensure compliance and submission of required paperwork and appropriate investigations
  • Responsible for developing instructions and procedures needed to implement policies to create efficient clearance processing
  • Verify the correct information is provided on base access request forms for processing and assist employees with completing base access request forms if required
  • Continue professional development knowledge and keep abreast of the interworking in the field of security.Required Experience:Requirements
    • Experienced user of SWFT, DISS, NISS is a MUST (APACS is desired)
    • Knowledge of the Base and Ship access forms and processes
    • Knowledge of the Industrial Security Program
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Candidate must be a self-driven and results-oriented individual, capable of effectively working multiple tasks concurrently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
    • Strong critical thinking skills
    • Proficient in organizing and maintaining files and databases in a confidential manner; protecting Personally Identifiable information (PII) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Eligibility of SECRET is requiredEducation / Specialized Training
      • High School diploma or GED mandatory.
      • 5+ years experience with managing and submitting shipyard/ship accesses and credentials
      • Position requires US citizenship
      • Experience with SWFT, DISS, NISS is a MUST (APACS is desired)Physical/Environmental Job Requirements
        • Work primarily performed in an office environment
