Job DescriptionSalary: Primary FunctionTests and inspects products to ensure the quality and functionality of manufactured goods and sets up test equipment.Essential DutiesPlans and directs activity concerning development and performance of quality standards. Approves incoming materials by confirming the specifications and conducting visual inspections and taking measurements and utilizing other inspection methods. Reports and returns unacceptable materials and communicates require adjustments to supervision. Follows accepted industry standards and procedures.Other DutiesFollow through on set procedures and ensure adherence to best production practices and product quality standards as well as monitor the efficiency and cost effectiveness of output. Know industry codes and specifications. Housekeeping as directed and assist in other jobs as needed. Able to use hand tools, inspection equipment and portable power tools as needed.RequirementsSignificant knowledge of quality control policies and procedures and use of proper inspection equipment. Able to record findings and to write and maintain reports of finding. Good interpersonal and communications skills to keep all necessary personnel informed regarding acceptability or rejection of materials. Good eye/hand coordination and depth perception.Physical NeedsMust be able to occasionally lift 70 pounds, must not be color blind and able to wear and utilize personal protective equipment, practice good personal hygiene and cleanliness and keep work area in good order. Able to communicate with all levels of co-workers, management, suppliers, and customers.SafetyAware of job site hazards and job safe practices including employee hazard recognition, proper use of PPE, inspection of equipment and committed to personal safety practices.TrainingStrong analytical skills and attention to detail, above average interpersonal skills and practiced in the use of technical manuals, specifications, and measurement techniques. Attend industry training opportunities and stay involved in proper inspection protocols.SupervisionSite superintendent, project managers and senior staff as directed.
