This position helps ensure residents within the community reside in an environment conducive to living and learning. By monitoring activity within the community, conducting floor checks, handling incidents, and enforcing policies, procedures and guidelines; employees in this role provide a valuable resource and support system as well as maintain order within their community.Must be able to work under highly stressful conditions, must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks, when necessary. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be flexible as well as professional and must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to work while standing for long periods of time and must be able to cline stairs quickly, several times, as necessaryHigh school diploma is required, some college preferred. Experience working in a college residential environment is also preferredEnsures assigned staff provide appropriate follow-up on outstanding work orders, administrative duties, and other duties as assigned. Schedules assigned front desk staff; properly train new staff; perform evaluations and provide performance feedback. Assists HLR leadership team with ordering front desk supplies, uniforms and supplies as needed. Approves timesheets, overtime and leave. Assists with creation and updates to staff manuals, policies, and procedures as needed. Designs and supervises staff training, meetings, and workshops. Responsible for compiling Incident Reports during assigned shift and submitting nightly shift reports. Serves as essential personnel and assists with coordinating staff reporting and scheduling during crises, inclement weather, and emergency evacuation.Supervises all emergencies and incidents which occur during shift to ensure police/emergency response, adequate coverage, hospital escort (when necessary), and students' safety is always adhered to until police/emergency services arrive or relieved by an HRL team member. Ensure staff adequately trained as first responders to critical incidents and emergencies which include but are not limited to: suicide/attempted suicide, sexual assault, Assists the Executive Director, Associate Directors, Area Coordinators, and Resident Directors with preparing for inclement weather and emergency evacuation, when necessary.
