Shift: Mon-Fri 8:15AM-5PM; travel up to 50%

How you will contribute to LifeNet Health's success:

As a Director, Production Operations, you will manage and direct assigned production departments in LifeSciences within LifeNet Health's multi-site production and logistics division. You will work with the VP, Process Engineers, and Quality Systems Engineers to ensure production operations are in compliance with the appropriate regulations (i.e., FDA, ISO and AATB for Tissue Operations). You are responsible for all quality, cost, and operational elements regarding production of clinical or research products. You will direct implementation of lean practices within Production Operations. You will work closely with supporting departments, including Planning, Quality Records, and Logistics to ensure timely and efficient throughput of donors and grafts. You will collaborate with all Divisions of LifeNet Health regarding production plans, standards, and schedules. You will partner with VP for budget preparation and administration.

What you'll do:

  • People Leadership: Provides oversight to assigned team by supervising, guiding, and directing employees to be effective regarding day-to-day execution of production operations (multi-site 24/7 environment), support operations, and production enhancement and improvement initiatives. Ensures individuals are equipped with the right skills, tools, and talents necessary for executing their duties. Uses the established people processes (performance, development, succession, and career) to ensure their team's level of performance and capabilities meet current and future standards. Ensures effective training of technical staff and adequate staffing levels in all departments.
  • Strategic Operational Leadership: Analyzes production department functions and graft production and makes or recommends operating decisions. Develops departmental goals and objectives and annual budgets (operational and capital) that support corporate strategic goals and objectives. Monitors monthly financial performance indicators, investigates variances, and recommends or adjusts operations using Lean techniques. Achieves departmental goals while maintaining costs within budget.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Oversees the Production Operations QSR systems and implements departmental changes as needed to meet the regulatory requirements for all affected products.
  • Process Improvement: Serves on new product development and design control teams to ensure proper validation/qualification/compliance requirements are assessed and met. Makes recommendations for improvements in product specifications.

What you'll bring (Minimum Requirements):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Business Administration, Allied Health or related field; Master's Degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Business Administration, Allied Health or related field preferred
  • 10 years Management experience leading others
  • 7 years Operations/Production/Manufacturing experience in Life Sciences, Tissue Banking, Medical Device, Manufacturing, Logistics or related industry

  • Communication skills: Written, verbal and presentation; ability to engage, inspire and influence people.
  • Relationship Management: Builds and sustains partnerships across organizational boundaries and functions as well as outside the organization to achieve common goals and outcomes.
  • People Development: Actively engages in talent management practices (selection, promotion, development, and engagement) to cultivate a workforce that is well aligned with current and emerging talent needs.
  • Research/Problem Solving: Leads thorough analysis of situations with appropriate attention to detail and the big picture including consideration of impact at multiple levels of the system.
  • Lean/Six Sigma: Demonstrated experience implementing as part of business processes.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
