The Automobile Club is part of the largest federation of AAA

Under the supervision of the Manager of Telecommunications and
IT Support, to install, modify and make repairs to software,
hardware and network systems and to provide more complex Level 2
technical assistance and training to system users. Responsible for
promoting and supporting a safe work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs complex user support concerning system operation.
Diagnose system hardware, software and operator problems,
recommends or performs remedial action to resolve issues. Refers
major problems to top-level support at ACE. Receive and handle
escalated helpdesk calls assigned by Level 1 Helpdesk support.
- Installs, Images and repairs personal computers, peripherals,
including printer maintenance and supplies. Obtains outside vendor
support when needed.
- Knowledge of basic Cisco network capabilities.
- Installs and supports department specific software
- Travels to remote branch offices to install/repair PC hardware
- Orders PC's and related computer equipment
- Assist ACE IS Teams with install, replacement, and support of
data network (LAN and WAN)
- Runs daily computer jobs/reports, assist with daily workload
balance and sharing responsibilities of the Tidewater IS Dept of
Tidewater Support Manager.
- Attends technical conferences and seminars to keep abreast of
- Provide On-Call support of all voice and data outages on an
as-needed basis, Backup to Tidewater Support Manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Associates degree in computer science or 2 years of equivalent
training or expertise. Must have thorough knowledge of Windows
operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Must have basic
knowledge and understanding of common WAN and LAN network
environments. Must be able to manage disaster recovery and back-up
processes of all applications at the Club. Must be able to work
well with others and communicate effectively through both written
and verbal communications. Must be able to manage troubles as well
as moves, adds, and changes through Service Requests and Trouble
Ticketing software as well as opening and closing trouble tickets
to track time and information on issues. Must be able to do Problem
Solving tasks including identifying and resolving problems in a
timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully;
Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving
situations. Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time
Complexity and Creativity
Primary responsibility involves analyzing computer systems to
identify improvements and problem solving to resolve issues with
existing systems. Must make decisions on alternatives for fixing
computer systems and resolving network problems. Must be able to
manage projects with minimal supervision and complete tasks on

Understanding and anticipating users' needs and expectations and
is self-motivated to meet or exceed those expectations; using good
customer relations and interpersonal skills in helping solve
problems and answer their questions. Listening to, interpreting,
understanding, and processing verbal information. Probing to ensure
all key information is obtained from user. The ability to analyze
information, identifying alternatives, making sound, logical
decisions and as needed develops alternative solutions; works well
in group problem solving situations. Adapts to change and is
flexible in adjusting their approach to meet the needs in different
situations; rotating among job functions as needed. Will develop
ways to continuously assist with productivity improvements, process
improvements, and willing to develop a plan to pursue training,
