Job Summary

The CE Cyber Field Service Specialist is to support the operations of the Clinical Engineering Department with regards to production medical equipment IT systems and various Connectable & Connected Device Inventory (CDI) projects. These operations entail responding to and supporting with technical expertise Client driven integration projects, medical device network configurations, connected device inventory management, service and repair requests, identifying fault conditions and remediating if capable, or contacting and teaming with the Client Information Technology Department resources to resolve issues. This individual will utilize downtime plans, logistics, and training to support the operational data workflows of the integrated medical devices and the production environment. The CE CYBER Technician will ensure clinical equipment systems are fully inventoried, interfaced and/or integrated with various information systems in a consistent dependable manner, as determined by the Client's Information Technology Department, in accordance with conventional networking and security practices, the Medical Equipment Management Plan and the TRIMEDX Clinical Engineering Program policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Skills:

* Strong knowledge of medical device technology * Knowledge of healthcare and clinical environment risk factors * Knowledgeable of the operation of and experience in the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of medical equipment and systems * Knowledge of IT infrastructure and enterprise IT security * Understanding and/or experience with regulatory, industry standards, and compliance concepts and frameworks * Strong knowledge of computers, operating systems, security, and networking * Ability to interpret technical documentation and manuals * Knowledge of the communications protocols (such as HL7 & DICOM) used in the healthcare * Advanced analysis of test data and interpretation of schematic diagrams is frequently required

Required:

* 2+ years of technology security or biomedical/CE experience experience * Associates degree or equivalent in a related field * Ability to coordinate efforts across multiple teams and at multiple points in system lifecycle. * Strong written, verbal, and presentational communication skills * Ability to understand and analyze complex business problems to derive technology-based solutions. * Ability to work independently and make decisions within the scope of responsibility *

Preferred:

* Bachelor's degree in related field * Experience with healthcare compliance * Working experience and/or certifications with current technologies used at TriMedx * Experience with LEAN and Agile methodologies

Responsibilities

Accountabilities

* Supports, monitors and manages the Connected Device Inventory. * Provides professional expertise, guidance and assistance in the area of Clinical Engineering-IT (CE CYBER) Systems and CDI. * Establishes themselves as the expert for the Clinical Engineering Department related to networked and/or integrated medical devices and/or systems. * Promotes uniform maintenance and repairs on production medical device systems across the Client's healthcare enterprise. * Monitors, services and/or supports clinical equipment that utilizes networking technologies and/or software based controllers. * Responds to CDI trouble calls pertaining to data flow issues from customers. * Troubleshoot medical equipment and/or MDI hardware and software to ensure data connections. Sets-up and configures CDI interface hardware for use in the production CDI environment. Verifies proper data flow conditions on the CDI * Under limited supervision, provides guidance and assistance in the area of Clinical Engineering-IT (CE-IT) * Assist with developing communication content and reports for TRIMEDX customers on medical device security issues. * Supports the development and execution of CE-IT services and capabilities. * Develops and/or supports data/configuration backup policies, procedures and processes, for installation and/or upgrade of CDI devices and systems; as well as related equipment Supports Client IT and various medical device and software vendors to lab test solutions prior to these solutions being put into the production environment * Evaluates incoming equipment, capital requests and its documentation; helps to ensure medical device firmware configurations meet the needs of all concerned parties allowing equipment to properly integrate with the system prior to being placed into the production environment. Documents these configurations for the Clinical Engineering Department and Client IT Team * Provides training to Clinical Engineering associates on customized configuration and maintenance solutions developed for reintroducing integrated equipment back into the environment after remediation or repair * Monitors and evaluates proposed software revisions to medical equipment systems and actively track and ensure that systems being upgraded * Develops working knowledge and skills of Clinical Engineering staff to the level attainable for all server based medical equipment applications that Clinical Engineering is responsible for, as defined by the scope of the Client agreement in order to acts as a System Administrator in partnership with Client IT and Clinical teams for these systems * Prepares and delivers status reports on program matters and ongoing events according to response procedures. * Advise TRIMEDX customers on device updates and upgrades due to medical device security issues. * Provide support and guidance to TRIMEDX field associates during incident response and disaster recovery for medical devices serviced by TRIMEDX. * Documents, reports and communicates incident response activities. * Assists with organization and coordination of field response and remediation activities as necessary.

* Recommends solutions based on established best practices * Uses logic and analytical thinking to solves problems * Work is more variable at this level; as such must consider multiple options to solve problems

* Makes tactical decisions that are driven by the priorities of the projects * Issues not defined by best practices are escalated to senior team members or management * Self-sufficient and capable of working with limited supervision

* Communicates with management on status issues and decisions * Facilitates discussions for the project with the project team and peers * Interacts with peers to gain broader business and/or technical exposure * Creates and delivers presentations and communications to peers, management and external partners * Provides support to less experienced team members and external partners
