What will I do? Our Exercise Aquatic Specialist position plans, teaches and coordinates land and water based exercise classes for the residents and staff. Some experience teaching fitness is a plus. The Exercise/Aquatic Specialist assists the Exercise/Aquatic Coordinator with the planning and implementation of a comprehensive fitness program that integrates current wellness, and issues congruent with, the Wellness philosophy of the community. * Lead group exercises classes for both the land and water.* Set up and implement personal training programs* Prepare schedules for exercise and aquatics programs that meet the identified needs of residents and, to the extent possible, staff members Identify fitness levels, progression and regression, through various assessment and exercise testing procedures* Provide a safe environment for pool and fitness center patrons through proper maintenance of equipment and areas following regulations set forth by the Health Dept. Promote interest and increase participation at classes and programs through on-going evaluation Assist with health education classes/workshops for residents and staff, utilizing internal and external resources* Report resident health concerns to appropriate staff* Assist with special events and work closely with other departments to ensure coordination of community wide events What do I need for this role? * Bachelor's degree in a related field or years' experience teaching* Certifications in Personal Training, Group Exercise and/or other specialty classes preferred* Experience working with older adults desired* Current CPR and First Aid certifications* Upbeat and engaging personality What makes Westminster Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay unique?
