Job_Summary To coordinate and direct the daily activities of the Claims/REO Department. Essential_Duties_And_Responsibilities * Supervise and direct the activities of the Claims/REO Department to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, investor guidelines and applicable state and federal laws and regulations * Enhance staff performance through goal setting, training and coaching * Monitor all claims are filed in accordance with investor/agency/insurer requirements * Conduct quality review of all claims prior to submission * Participate in the implementation/development of procedures to increase efficiency; adjust to required changes * Participate in weekly/monthly conference calls with clients providing status of the defaulted portfolio * Manage eviction and property preservation needs for agency and private loans * Prepare response for internal QC audits * Able to react to change productivity and handle other essential tasks as assigned * Prepare monthly MBR s and present to Management * Responsible for requesting, creating/preparing, updating/revising, reviewing, testing, finalizing/approving, conduct training and maintain the departments policies and procedures * All other duties as assigned Minimum_Qualifications * High School Diploma or equivalent required * Minimum 4 years of experience in the legal field, default mortgage servicing and/or strong understanding of REO marketing, property preservation and disposition of assets. * Minimum 2 years supervisory experience. * Knowledge of accepted business practices in the mortgage industry and/or strong understanding of claims process for HUD, FHLMC, FNMA and VA. * Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet research knowledge, 10-key calculator. * LPS-MSP experience preferable. * Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. * Ability to work independently; strong analytical, problem solving, research, inquisitive, interpretive and decision making skills. * Detail oriented. * Strong leadership and management skills. * Strong case management background, organizational and planning skills. * Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. * Able to work in a fast-paced environment; responsive and open to change in processes. * Ability to take and provide clear direction. * Ability to motivate and train staff. WORK CONDITIONS Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Ability to attend work and be productive during normal business hours and to work early, late or weekend hours as needed for successful job performance. Over time required as necessary. Deductive Reasoning The ability to apply general rules to specific problem to produce answers that make sense. Problem Sensitivity The ability to tell when something is wrong or is like to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem. Written Comprehension The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. Inductive Reasoning The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events). Information Ordering The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
