Job_Summary The Electric Distribution Operations department in Virginia Beach, Virginia has an Electric Serviceman 1st class vacancy. This position requires a self starter who can effectively prioritize and who doesn't mind working alone and driving. Required_Knowledge,_Skills,_Abilities_&_Experience The Electric Distribution Operations department in Virginia Beach, Virginia has an Electric Serviceman 1st class vacancy as a result of a retirement. This position requires a self starter who can effectively prioritize and who doesn't mind working alone and driving. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the following: * The repair and maintenance of both overhead and underground electrical distribution lines * Being the first responder to power outages * Working closely with the Regional Operations Centers within the Dominion service territory * Working alone 90% of the time working rotating shifts * Available for call-outs during outages and or storm restoration events * Pay rate of $44.21 for individuals who are able to assess at competency level 4 in the Dominion Lineman Development program, plus $1.50 per hour shift pay There is no budget for relocation expenses for this job Education_Requirements High School Diploma or GED Other_Working_Conditions Cold 51-75% Confined Spaces 26-50% Dust / Grease / Oil 26-50% Energized Wires 76-100% Heat 26-50% Loud Noise 26-50% Operating Machinery 26-50% Outdoors 76-100% Travel 26-50% Union - IBEW Local 50 VA/NC/WVA Test_Description This job requires recommended test results from the EEI Construction and Skilled Trades (CAST) aptitude test, administered on site during the pre- employment process.
