Description:The primary objective of the Electrical Designer/Programmer III is to assist in the development of accurate electrical designs, programs and documentation while providing high quality customer service to internal and external customers. The Electrical Designer/ Programmer III will assist in the design, assembly, and testing of electrical control systems and control panels for vacuum pump systems. The successful candidate will be a motivated team player with an electrical/electronic experience . Electrical Designer/Programmer III will assist with the supervision of Electrical Designer/Programmer I and II and lead the team in the absence of the Electrical Engineering Manager.Generate electrical designs for automated vacuum control systems to meet customer needs for general custom applicationsGenerate programmable logic controller and operator interface terminal programs for automated vacuum control systems to meet customer needs for general custom applicationsGenerate sequence of operations and other engineering specification documents for automated vacuum control systems to meet customer needs for general custom applicationsAssist in the maintenance of standard electrical designs, programs and documentation for automated vacuum control systemsBench test and system automated vacuum control systems in a production environmentSystem test automated vacuum control systems in a production environmentWrite commissioning procedures for electrical installationsExperience:5 plus years of experience in Electrical Engineering or related field: RequiredWorking knowledge of digital test instruments (i.e. multi-meters); Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming, Operator Interface Terminals and similar automation control systems and components; Familiarity with analog(4-20ma) transmitters, and adjustable pressure/vacuum switches; Working knowledge for Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) and or Adjustment Speed Drive (ASD); Hands on experience with common hand tools used in the electrical field; Experience in technical writing; Working knowledge reading and interpreting electrical wiring, Piping and Instrumentation Diagram/Drawing (P&ID) and associated electrical control documentation; Programming and configuration of PLC's, Operator Interface Terminals (OIT) and VFD's; Knowledge of power distribution systems, automated control systems, electrical and controls instrumentation, and the National Electrical Code (UL 508A, UL 1203, NFPA 99 and NFPA 79); Ability to read and interpret electrical drawingsComputer Skills:Proficient computer skills, including electronic mail, Microsoft Office Suites (routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.). Ability to utilize AutoCAD to modify and review electrical assembly and wiring diagrams. Ability to utilize Rockwell Automation software to modify and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and HIM/OIT program code.
