Job Description:

SLAIT Consulting is currently seeking a Business Project Manager Sr. for a client in the Hampton Roads area (VA).

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

* Lead the planning and implementation of assigned projects

* Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables

* Define project tasks and resource requirements

* Develop full scale project plans

* Plan and schedule project timelines

* Track project deliverables using appropriate tools

* Provide direction and support to project team

* Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders

* Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions

* Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs

* Project evaluations and assessment of results

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

* PMI Certification or formal project management training preferred

* Direct work experience in project management capacity

* Knowledge of project management techniques and tools

* Proven experience in strategic planning, risk management and change management

* Proficient in project management software (MS Project or similar)

Knowledge and Skills:

* Project leadership and management skills are required- knowledge and experience with PMBOK process is required.

* Flexibility, tolerance and diplomacy to best manage change and differing opinions

* Ability to work in a highly complex, multi-cultural, often stressful environment

* Highly effective communications skills – written and verbal

* Management of multiple tasks of varied complexity simultaneously

* Highly effective presentation skills – create and deliver presentations with appropriate messaging and focused recommendations

* Microsoft Project Professional, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint & Word
