Description Job Description:The Field Support Team Manager will
provide management and leadership to the Field Support Team (FST)
conducting work in multiple locations in support of Surveillance
Towed Array Sensor System (SURTASS) electronic equipment and
provide instruction of operation and maintenance of electronic
equipment to civilian and military personnel associated with the
Navy SURTASS Program. Actively participate as the team leader in
meeting the programs engineering requirements. Selected candidate
will also be responsible for the following:
- Management of the FST's, schedule, casualty response, travel
requirements, timecard administration, preparation and submission
engineering and administrative reports;
- At the discretion of the Program Manager, FST Manager will act
as a liaison/coordinator with sponsor, ship's master, sponsored
riders, operational commanders, other SURTASS contractors, MSC and
shipyard personnel, and other Government organizations.
- Perform and provide quality assurance for repairs and
modifications to equipment and ensure applicable maintenance
standards are met IAW ISO 9001 requirements.
- Perform electronic equipment installations;
- Coordinate and conduct training as directed to O&M members
and FST technicians;
- Preparation of operational, maintenance procedures, Standard
Operating Procedures and manuals as needed;
- Perform engineering research and analysis
- Augment ship's O&M technical crew in port and at sea as
necessary and assist in the management of FST technicians
augmenting in the same role in port and at sea.Basic
Qualifications:
- Must have at least an Associate Degree in Computer Science,
Electronics Technology, or be a graduate of US Navy electronics "C"
school or equivalent civilian electronics technical school.
Curriculum must have dealt directly with industrial maintenance,
troubleshooting and repair of secure networks and communications
systems, navigations systems, and sonar surveillance systems.
- Ten (10) years of progressive work experience in a Navy life
cycle sustainment program with personnel supervision
responsibilities, and familiarity with C4I technologies and sonar
maintenance.
- Must have at least five (5) years of supervisor experience that
includes:
- Manpower planning
- Shipboard technical support management
- Maintenance scheduling for in-port periods
- Administration of personnel performance and qualification
currency
- Task management, scheduling, reporting and tracking FST
technical requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in
writing
- The selected applicant must: have a valid driver's license,
have or be able to obtain a valid U.S. passport, travel to CONUS
and OCONUS locations on short notice to meet technical requirements
of the program.
- Top Secret Clearance required.Desired Qualifications:
- Eight (8) years of combined experience in the maintenance and
repair of SURTASS PROCESSING Subsystems, SURTASS COMMs subsystems,
and/or SURTASS arrays. Experience in all three of these areas,
versus one or two, is highly desirable.
- SURTASS PROCESSING SUBSYSTEM includes: ICP, UNIX, LINUX,
Windows, ORACLE, COMPOSE, GCCS-M, GPS (Commercial and MIL-STD),
Bathythermograph/Sound Velocimeter, Mechanical and Ring Laser Gyro,
TTTS, and/or PC Test Set
- SURTASS COMMs SUBSYSTEM includes: SHF, UHF SATCOM and LOS, HF,
NOW, IFF, SECURE VOICE and DATA CRYPTOs, CMS, EKMS, KMI, SIPRNET,
ADNS/CFCP, and/or NIPRNET
- SURTASS ARRAYS includes: TL-29A Twinline and Single line, LFA,
CLFA, and/or HFM3.

Range:Pay Range $84,500.00 - $130,000.00 - $175,500.00The Leidos
pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a
guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered
in extending an offer include (but are not limited to)
responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge,
skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with
market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other
law.
