What You ll Do

• Provide adult inpatient and outpatient clinical support within the cardiothoracic surgery service line
• Participate in weekend rounds as scheduled
• Manage care for approximately 5 10 patients on rounds (per assignment block)
• Document assessments and treatment plans in EPIC (training provided)
• Collaborate with the cardiothoracic surgery team to support daily clinical workflow
• Deliver patient-focused, evidence-based care in accordance with facility standards

What You Need
Required

• Physician Assistant (PA) license/certification to practice in the applicable state (VA requirements apply)
• Cardiothoracic surgery specialization/experience
• Ability to obtain/maintain hospital privileges (required)
• Strong clinical judgment and comfort managing both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities

Preferred

• Experience working in EPIC (training provided for this assignment)
• Familiarity with inpatient rounding workflows and weekend coverage

About the Assignment
A locum-to-perm opportunity is available for a Cardiothoracic Surgery specialized PA at a leading facility in Portsmouth, Virginia. Coverage blocks include 08/26/2026 (7a) 09/01/2026 (7a), 09/14/2026 (7a) 09/21/2026 (7a), and 11/16/2026 (7a) 11/30/2026 (7a). Minimum commitment is 2 weeks on/off rotation, with the service line supporting approximately 75% adult inpatient and 25% outpatient.
