Registered Nurse (RN) | Oncology Location: Norfolk, VA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,416 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/6/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Pediatric Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: PM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 18 months of experience in an acute and chronic care setting with solid oncology experience. License: Active RN License Certifications: APHON Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Status, PALS, and BLS certification required. Must-Have: Flu vaccination required, no exemptions. Description: Attentive to all types of cancer diagnoses. Administer chemotherapy, blood components, fluid and electrolyte replacements, and oncology treatments. Assess patient conditions and manage side effects. Offer emotional support to patients and their families. Display appropriate prioritization skills in a fast-paced setting. Inpatient Hematology Oncology includes a 16-bed unit. Most patients remain in a 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio. If medical/surgical patients are present on the unit, the ratio may fluctuate to 4:1. There is a charge RN without a patient assignment for every shift. A team lead RN, also without a patient assignment, assists with double checks, high alert drugs, procedures, and patient transport.
