This contract opportunity offers registered nurses a chance to apply their expertise in monitoring and treating patients who require a higher level of care than typical medical-surgical units but do not need full intensive care. The role demands strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities: Monitor and assess patient status continuously, recognizing and responding to subtle changes Administer medications and treatments in accordance with care plans and physician orders Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care Educate patients and families regarding conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care instructions Document patient information thoroughly and accurately within electronic medical records Qualifications / Desired Experience: Current RN licensure with Step-Down or Progressive Care Unit experience preferred Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring and management of patients with complex medical needs Ability to prioritize care for multiple patients effectively in a dynamic environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills BLS and ACLS certification required or willingness to obtain promptly Location:Newport News is part of the vibrant Hampton Roads metropolitan area, offering a blend of coastal living and a rich historical background.
