Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Chesapeake, VA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,110 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Critical Care preferred. Strong candidates with less experience may be considered. License: VA or Compact License required at the time of submission, no exceptions. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Strong neuro experience (post-neurosurgical, external ventricular drain, and stroke). Proficiency in EPIC is required. Description: Chesapeake is located in the beautiful area known as Coastal Virginia. It is just minutes away from Virginia Beach and Norfolk. Chesapeake is an outdoor lover's paradise, offering trails for all levels of hikers and over 20 waterways to explore. The role requires strong neuro experience, including post-neurosurgical care, external ventricular drains, and stroke management. Nurses must also be skilled in ventilation management, IV drip titration, and telemetry monitoring. Experience in conscious sedation, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency management is essential. The patient population includes individuals with neurosurgical needs, respiratory failure, renal failure, trauma, sepsis, and heart failure. Nurses must be willing to float to stepdown units and may also be floated to emergency or medical-surgical departments to care for ICU patients. Ratios are typically 1:2 or 1:3 on the unit. The role also requires participation in a variety of special procedures. Nurses will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapists and physical therapy. Any history of license or background issues will disqualify candidates from consideration. All submissions must include a current license report.
