Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/10/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Stepdown Resource Pool position requiring Epic experience and comfort with 1:5 PCU ratios. Responsibilities - Position is in a Stepdown Resource Pool within a hospital - Covers all PCU/Stepdown and Med-Surg units, with possible coverage in CCU and ED if qualified - Patient ratios are 1:5 in PCU - Night shifts, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) - Floating to various units may occur every 4 hours based on hospital needs - Uses Epic EMR system; RN-level experience is required - Resource Pool RNs may be floated to different units approximately every 4 hours - Holiday work is required, with at least one holiday per 13-week assignment and two holidays during the winter season - Orientation modules and Epic training are provided at the start of the assignment - Return travelers must not have been employed by the facility in any capacity for at least one year, with additional restrictions after 365 days worked as a traveler - All time off must be requested up front for consideration - Local candidates are not eligible for this position Requirements - Active VA or compact RN license required - Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required - Prior experience as an RN using Epic is required - Must be comfortable with all PCU/Stepdown and Med-Surg units, and able to provide additional coverage for CCU and ED with proper competencies - Must have experience working with patient ratios of 1:5 in PCU - Candidates residing within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted unless otherwise specified by exception - Two professional references are required for consideration - Copy of driver’s license and social security number is required for consideration Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622312.
