Sentara Norfolk General, located in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring a RN Nurse Unit Coordinator to join the Neuro Intermediate Care Unit.

Position and Department Overview

  • Full Time; 40 hours per week
  • Evening Shift
    The Neuro Intermediate Care Unit at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a 36 bed medical/surgical unit that provides neuro care to stroke, seizure, craniology, neck and back surgery patients and more. It is a team driven, fast paced, intense and engaging environment for learning.

    In this role, you will be responsible and accountable for:

    • Demonstrating proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provide clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department.
    • Under the direction of the department manager you will lead safety and quality initiatives, focus on and simplify workflow, and contribute to the development of staff.
    • Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

      Minimum Requirements

      License and Certification
      • BSN required
      • Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.

        Education
        • BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required.


          Experience
          • 18 months nursing experience required
            Other:
            • Be havioral Health - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
            • Emergency Care - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire.
            • BLS required within 90 days of hire.

                Job Summary

                18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty.
                Behavioral Health - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
                Emergency Care - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire.
                BLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.

                Qualifications:

                N-4YR - RN-Bachelor's Level Degree (Required), N-6YR - RN-Master's Level Degree (Required), N-DN - RN-Doctorate Level Degree (Required)

                Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Registered Nurse (RN) Single State - Nursing License - North Carolina, Registered Nurse (RN) Single State - Nursing License - Virginia, Registered Nurse License (RN) - Nursing License - Compact/Multi-State License
