Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse Substance Abuse

Requirements: Must be a licensed unrestricted LPN in the State of Virginia

Location: Virginia Beach, VA

Hours: Monday through Friday 3p to 11;30p

Type: Full Time 40 hours a week, long term temporary

Start Date: ASAP

Hourly Pay Rate: $23.18

Specialty: Substance Abuse / Mental Health



Summary: Performs assessments, interventions, and consolation duties in a mental health/substance abuse setting; does related work as required.



Duties:

• 
  
• Initiate the admission process, viewing hospital reports, labs, etc
  
• Complete admissions by performing and documenting nursing assessments for all admissions to crisis stabilization and medically monitored detox services.
  
• Transcribe all medical provider orders with 100% accuracy.
  
• Administer medications with 100% accuracy as prescribed by provider.
  
• Utilize and implement medical and nursing protocols
  
• Contact medical director or consultant to endure the provision of effective treatment.
  
• Perform physical assessments on admission and during medical emergencies.
  
• Manage medical and mental health crises
  
• Perform venipuncture as ordered
  
• Collaborate with clinical, medical and administrative staff for all nursing, staffing and clinical issues.
  
• Communicate with all members of the treatment team throughout the shift to assist in managing the milieu.
  
• Comply with all policies and procedures, and standard nursing practices and state mental health standards.
