Job Description:

DroneUp is seeking a Product Manager that will own the Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) capabilities of the software-based product lines in our Aviation Technology Group. The Product Manager will be responsible for managing the product's roadmap to deliver capabilities fulfilling business strategic initiatives. The work produced connects business strategy to the development and delivery of outcomes. As a leader of the product line, the Product Manager will work closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts to inform solution design and delivery.
Responsibilities

• Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identifying product gaps, and generating solutions that improve the experience and help increase market share for DroneUp
• Develop expert level knowledge of the product line
• Perform work in a matrixed, cross-functional team consisting of engineers, UX designers, and other product leaders.
• Lead a distributed, multinational, cross-functional team to consistently deliver outcomes
• Define goals for upcoming program increments, sprints, and release cycles
• Work with Product Owners to define sprint scope
• Create and anticipate new product capability items based on business needs and defined business value; translates product strategy into detailed capability requirements
• Creates, maintains, prioritizes, and sequences the product's capability roadmap for each program increment
• Serve as the voice of the customer and stakeholders to the product development team
• Support development team clarifications and end user support request
• Align internal and external stakeholders on product vision, roadmap, and critical product development milestones and provides communication to wider business areas as needed
• Maintain consistent communications with internal and external stakeholders
• Other duties as assigned
  Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (or experiential equivalent) in Business, Computer Science, Strategy, or related field preferred
  • 4+ years experience in a product manager role or similar role within a product management team
  • Understanding of traffic management systems, UTM, flight management systems, and/or common operating pictures (COP)
  • Government, aviation, DoD, or military experience is a plus
  • Part 107 certification and in-depth knowledge of the Drone industry is a plus
  • Experience working in agile environments; SAFe, or similar agile certification preferred
  • Strong passion for exploring and understanding customer needs
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles
  • Excellent presentation as well as written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, leadership, analytical, and critical thinking skills
