Job Description:

OVERALL FUNCTIONThe Director of Client Relations and Marketing specializes in client service to ensure the maintenance of an efficient, organized office that allows advisors to focus their energy on building client relationships. This person is a liaison between the home office, advisors, network office support team and clients. The Director of Client Relations and Marketing focuses on successfully marketing the firm to keep the advisors in constant selling situations and assists in all marketing related activities, developing and implementing new promotional and marketing programs and developing and executing cross-selling plans for existing clients. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:SUPPORT----------------Handle case notes, process correspondence and maintain client case files----------------File new statements, account forms and other insurance/investment-related materials----------------Maintain financial representative's calendar and schedule follow-up appointment----------------Answer telephone calls and direct them as appropriate----------------Process client/prospect reservations for marketing events such as seminars and assist in preparation of seminar materials and event mailings----------------Contact clients to set up follow-up meetings with representative----------------Maintain current client information for all product lines----------------Send client birthday cards and schedule birthday/age change appointments for representative----------------Generate lead letters and implement marketing programsClient Service Support - Non-Securities Products(Non-securities refers to Northwestern Mutual portfolio, fixed or non-variable insurance/products) ----------------Provide current status and account values for non-securities related accounts----------------Contact clients regarding late payments----------------Process incoming non-securities related insurance service requests from clients (process address changes, bank change information, loan requests and ISA service inquiries) MarketingSegmentationWork with the advisor to define ideal clients for each marketing segment and refine regularlyDrive efforts to segment the overall client base to be able to effectively execute a client touch plan and drive the goals of the practiceRecord segments within the client management system and maintain themDetermine a strategy to support lower segment clients, which may include succession planning, joint work or perhaps transitioning clients to the Client Relations CenterDevelop a focus list of clients to connect with within the next 6 monthsDevelop a process to obtain client preferences and track within the client management system (CRM)ProspectingCreate, document and drive execution of a referral processIdentify and document existing and potential Centers of Influence (COIs), then analyze COI results and manage COI strategyDetermine and manage Dedicated Prospecting Meetings (DPM) strategyDevelop joint work or team strategy for internal COIsMaximize feed list effortsDevelop a future client list of suspects that you would like to be referred toPromotionManage digital presence:Customize advisor's website on a regular basis to attract prospects and communicate the value proposition of the practiceDevelop a strategy to drive traffic to the website and convert that traffic into connectionsLeverage and maintain e-marketing through E-manager (Newsbrief, Ecards, Campaigns, etc.) to stay top of mind with existing clients and enhance client experienceMaximize social media presence to drive engagements by posting frequently and leveraging social media campaignsPosition practice as thought leaders in the community by leveraging consumer education tools (whitepapers, explainer videos, seminars, etc.)Develop and maintain content/materials via the Marketing PortalIncorporate marketing pieces such as brochures, bylined articles, and preapproved articlesMaintain email auto signaturesEvaluate organizations within target market(s) for sponsorship, advertising and/or networking opportunities and monitor results of these endeavors.Look for opportunities for local PR Client ExperienceBuild and deliver a comprehensive client touch plan and service plan to ensure client retention, additional purchases and drive referralsCreate positive first impressions with clients and prospects by managing the office environment, client communication and ease of doing businessDevelop a marketing calendar that incorporates the right components and frequency to meet objectivesSurvey clients periodically to ensure their satisfaction and gain new insights for future planningDevelop and track a marketing budget to determine ROIImplement a client on-boarding processPlan and execute on opportunities for client appreciation and/or prospecting eventsPromote adoption of the client websiteIdentify opportunities to leverage Northwestern Mutual's partnerships with organizations such as the NCAA and Alex's Lemonade StandInforce MarketingCreate various product/campaign strategies within a planning approach such as term conversions, ARDI conversion, etc.Document and manage the term conversion and APB processGeneralDevelop and execute on a marketing plan that includes review of the effectiveness of the efforts above, return on investments and tracking towards agreed upon measures of successReview marketing research reports and client list opportunities periodicallyIncorporate marketing as a standing topic in team meetings to report on progress, connect on key client/prospect information obtained and identify new opportunitiesUtilize home office resources such as marketing newsletters and webinars to keep abreast of what is availableManage compliance approvals of marketing materialsQualifications----------------Experience in administrative support or customer service, preferably in the financial services and/or insurance industry ----------------Marketing experience preferred----------------Health and life licensed or gain licensing within 6 months of employment----------------Excellent oral and written communication skills----------------Superior interpersonal skills----------------Superior written and oral communication skills----------------Familiarity with Microsoft applications and data entry and information retrieval software----------------Demonstrated organizational and time management skills and ability to multitask, set priorities and meet deadlines----------------Strong attention to detail with the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy----------------Ability to establish instant credibility with clients and prospects----------------Ability to work in a fast-paced environment----------------Ability to work both independently and on a team----------------Ability to maintain confidentiality----------------Ability to proactively identify what needs to be accomplished and take action as appropriateContinue insurance education through schools, academies, licenses, registrations and designations
