Job Description Job Description Venture Dynamics is seeking
experienced Certified Abrasive Blasters to support Navy and
commercial ship repair and preservation projects in active shipyard
environments. This role involves abrasive blasting and
ultra-high-pressure (UHP) waterjet surface preparation of vessels,
tanks, hulls, and structural components in accordance with NAVSEA
standards and shipyard specifications. Work is performed aboard
ships, in dry docks, tanks, voids, and industrial marine facilities
where inspection-ready steel preparation is required. Per diem may
be available depending on contract requirements and travel
distance. Responsibilities Perform abrasive blasting using approved
media to achieve required cleanliness and surface profile standards
Perform ultra-high-pressure (UHP) waterjetting when required by
project scope Prepare steel surfaces in accordance with NAVSEA
Standard Items 009-32 and 009-06 as applicable Set up, operate, and
maintain blasting and UHP equipment in compliance with safety
requirements Establish containment and maintain proper ventilation
and environmental controls during blasting operations Inspect
prepared surfaces to ensure compliance with project specifications
prior to coating application Coordinate with painters, inspectors,
and supervision to meet production and quality requirements
Requirements Minimum five (5) years of ship repair or marine
blasting experience at the journeyman level Current AMPP (formerly
SSPC) C-7 certification, or documented NAVSEA-approved equivalent
Demonstrated experience operating abrasive blasting and/or UHP
waterjet equipment in marine environments Ability to read and
interpret work packages, drawings, and coating specifications
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in shipboard
environments Ability to obtain and maintain shipyard access
credentials including DBIDS when required Ability to pass
background screening and drug testing per site requirements
Preferred Qualifications Experience aboard U.S. Navy or Military
Sealift Command vessels Familiarity with containment systems and
environmental controls for blasting operations OSHA 10 Maritime
certification Experience supporting corrosion control programs
subject to NAVSEA inspection standards Additional Information Work
is performed aboard active vessels, in dry docks, tanks, voids, and
industrial shipyard environments. Conditions may include confined
spaces, heights, dust exposure, waterjet operations, and variable
weather environments. Reliable transportation is required to report
to assigned shipyard or project locations. Work schedules may
include overtime, nights, weekends, and variable shifts depending
on project and production requirements. Respiratory protection may
be required based on task, location, or environmental conditions.
Candidates must be able to safely wear required PPE, including
respirators, in accordance with site safety policies. Venture
