RK&K is hiring an experienced Field Engineer to join our Construction Engineering and Inspection ( CEI ) team in the Virginia Beach, VA area. -As a Field Engineer with RK&K you will support heavy civil construction projects related to highway , roadway , bridge and related facilities. -
Essential Functions: -

• 
  
• Apply engineering principles, practices and methods to construction project management of various heavy civil construction programs. From consultation , investigation , evaluation , planning and design of public or private utilities , structures , processes , transportation systems and work systems
  
• Provide expertise and working knowledge of highway design processes, highway engineering principals/practices, highway design project management, highway processes/practices
  
• The Field Engineer will provide application of engineering procedures in roadway design / construction, schedules , claims avoidance , claims mitigation , cost estimating and reporting. This position affords you the opportunity to fully engage in solving complex problems and evaluate the costs and benefits of alternative solutions.
  
• Provide plan and print reviews, change requests and documentation

  Required Education, Skills and Experience
  
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or Related -
    
  • Three (3) years of construction management and/or engineering experience, preferably in the transportation construction
    
  • Ability to perform simultaneous tasks
    
  • Proficiency in communicating technical information
    
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    
  • Microsoft Office Suite
    
    Preferred Education, Skills and Experience
    
    • 
      
    • P.E. or EIT license (preferably Virginia)
      
    • CCM/CMIT preferred
      
    • Primavera P6 and/or other scheduling software
