Overview

Bowhead is seeking a skilled, full-time Senior Engineer to join our growing team in support of Port Hueneme.

Responsibilities

Essential functions for the Senior Engineer may include, but are not limited to:

• Ability to apply the theories and principles of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems. Also, be able to identify the link between perceived social needs and commercial applications.
• Ability to design products, machinery, implement improved ways to extract, process, and use raw materials, such as petroleum and natural gas, develop new materials that both improve the performance of products and take advantage of advances in technology.
• Effectively analyze the impact of the products they develop or the systems they design on the environment and on the people using them.
• In addition to design and development, experince in testing, production, or maintenance by supervising production in factories, determining the causes of breakdowns, and the testing of manufactured products to maintain quality prefered.
• Must be able to estimate the time and cost to complete projects. Qualifications
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in engineering, computer science, math or physics is desired. For equivalency purposes, eight (8) additional years of experience in the areas specified below is considered equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
  • General Experience: In addition to the above, eight (8) years of experience in conducting engineering development of combat systems under general direction is desired.
  • Specialized Experience: In addition to the general experience listed above, four years of experience in engineering involving surveillance radars such as those listed in the statement of work is desired.
    SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must have an active security clearance at the Secret level or be able to obtain. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Secret clearance at this location.
    
    Physical Demands: Office Environment - The environmental conditions consist of computer stations and desks with adequate and adjustable lighting. Chairs are designed to fit the various individuals and the tasks being performed. Ergonomic evaluations are completed as needed, to provide up to date modifications to all work stations.
