Job Summary

The Institute forCybersecurity's (IFC) Development Engineer and Trainer will be part of an academic team furthering the mission and visionof Regent University within the Collegeof Arts & Sciences. We are looking for someone who wants to build, support, and facilitate cybersecurity hands-on, interactive, and relevant learning on a premiercybersecurity learning platform. Essential functions will include:

  • Support the College of Arts and Science's Institute for Cybersecurity as a full-time Senior Development Engineering and Trainer in teaching, service, and scholarship.
  • Create and develop IFC programs and courses to include customized training boot camps, workforce readiness skills, and certification preparation.
  • Build and support the IFC platform and infrastructure.
  • Build and support academic programs and community partnership initiatives to include presentations, publications, research, internships, competitions, workshops, labs, clinics, forums, and camp.
  • Engage directly with students in interactive teaching & learning initiatives.
  • Coordinate IFC technology installation, maintenance, upgrades, and support with the Information Technology department and/or the Stanly Community College CISCO Academy support team.
    Qualifications:
    • B.S. in Computer Science or Cybersecurity is required; M.S preferred
    • A minimum of three years of relevant industry experience in Cybersecurity as a Cyber Security Engineer, Specialist, Technician, or other closely related position is required
    • Cybersecurity-related professional certifications are preferred to include from ISC2, SANS, EC-Council, Cisco, CompTIA, VMWare, Red Hat, and Palo Alto
    • At least two years of teaching experience at the higher education level to include online synchronous and asynchronous courses is required
