Job Description:

The classroom teachers shall:

• Prepare and present well planned, varied land differentiated lessons to meet the individual needs ofstudents.
  • Implement positive techniques of instruction.
    • Refer students to the guidance counselor for counseling.
      • Refer students to the Student Support Team if/when appropriate.
        • Identify and utilize remediation strategies offered to students.
          • Establish a feeling of mutual respect and trust with students.
            • Follow the grading plan of the school division.
              • Issue receipts and deposit all monies collected to the bookkeeper daily.
                • Supervise in the classroom and.monitor the hall in the classroom area during change of classes.
                  • Encourage and instruct students to maintain a clean and orderly room.
                    • Use quality strategies to maintain positive classroom management.
                      • Provide a classroom atmosphere that establishes positive rapport.
                        • Maintain discipline within the classroom.
                          • Abide by and enforce the school regulations.
                            • Communicate with parents on a regular basis
                              • Implement appropriate strategies included in the Continuous Improvement Plan.
                                • Notify the administration of any unusual circumstances or irregularities within or concerning theschool.
                                  • Maintain a professional attitude.
                                    • Assume duties as deemed necessary by the principal and supported by contractual agreements.
                                      • Submit other required reports and requested information at designated times.
                                        • Attend all professional and contractual meetings. - Contact an administrator when it is necessary to leave school grounds during school hours or if you will be late arriving to work. - In compliance with the goals established by the school superintendent regarding teachers dress, the "coat/tie" image and the parallel feminine styles are expected of all teachers. - Shorts are appropriate only in the gymnasium and on the playing fields. - Refer students for tutoring if/when appropriate. Contact parents to inform that tutoring information will be sent home with the student. - Contact the main office to escort a student to the office.

                                          Salary Range: From/ToSubstitute Long Term Rate $205.00 after 21 consecutive days.
                                          
                                          To be eligible for the Long Term rate, qualified candidates must be licensed to teach or be eligible for a provisional teaching license.
                                          
                                          After substituting for 20 consecutive days in this position, the long term rate will apply upon the 21st day of substituting. The substitute candidate selected for this position will only receive the long-term rate of pay if eligible for this rate (see above)
