retired candidates are most welcome! Job Overview: Continental Tide
is seeking an experienced NDT Level II / Quality Assurance
Inspector to support our Fleet Services Group. The successful
candidate will be responsible for performing quality assurance
inspections on Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems and
electronic systems on US Navy Ships. Essential duties &
responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: \n
Perform Non-Destructive Testing in accordance with applicable
specifications, standards, and company policies and procedures on
shipboard structural and piping systems. \n Perform Quality
Assurance Inspections associated with mechanical, structural,
piping, and electrical repairs and installation of HM&E systems
aboard ships. \n Review QAWB prior to start of work and after work
is complete for completeness, accuracy and compliance with
technical specifications and requirements. \n Perform other quality
related tasks as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager. \n
Perform in process shipboard surveillances. \n Ensure proper
completion and retention of OQE. \n Assist Program Managers,
Project Managers, and Supervisors with NAVSEA Standard Item and
other customer related requirements to ensure work is conducted
accurately and safely. \n Monitor compliance with company Quality
and Safety Management Systems, Workmanship standards and Customer
requirements. \n Assist with the development of Test & Inspection
Plans, Process Control Procedures, and Condition Reports as
required. \n Maintain the Measuring and Monitoring Equipment (MME)
Database including inspections, logging, and check-in/check-out of
MME equipment. \n Perform duties outside of specialty to assist
production in other ways as necessary (i.e., Fire Watch, Tank
Watch, general cleaning, etc.). \n \n Experience and Skills
Requirements: \n Must possess a high school, trade or industrial
school diploma or degree. \n Target 5-8 years of experience
performing NDT inspections (VT, PT, MT) within AIT industry. \n
Target 3-5 years of experience performing Quality Assurance/Control
Inspections on board US Navy Ships. \n Certified NDT Level II
Inspector (VT, PT, MT required). \n Detailed knowledge of
shipboard/shipyard environment procedures, processes, methods, and
techniques is a must. \n Ability to read and interpret ship
installation drawings, government specifications and NAVSEA
Standard Items is a must. \n Paint experience with a NBPI or NACE
certification is a plus. \n Must have or have the ability to obtain
and maintain a SECRET clearance. \n Must have the ability to obtain
and maintain base access and security credentials. \n Ability to
lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact
weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no
less than 30 lbs. \n Ability to work on and climb ladders, work in
extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under
industrial conditions and in confined spaces. \n Ability to wear a
respirator may be required. \n Travel may be required within and
outside of the continental United States. \n Due to export control
regulations, this role is open to U.S. citizens only. \n \n
Additional Requirements: \n Organizational skills and attention to
detail. \n Strong communication skills. \n Ability to work
independently and execute multiple assigned tasks. \n Must be
Proficient in Microsoft Project and Office Suite (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Outlook). \n \n Physical Requirements: \n Exposure to
open-air environments, including noisy, hot, and cold conditions.
\n Required to visit project sites aboard ships and rigs, both
onshore and offshore. \n Must wear various types of personal
protective equipment (PPE), such as hearing, eye, head, and hand
protection, as required. \n Site visits may involve standing on a
variety of surfaces and angles, bending, crouching, and climbing
over obstructions such as scaffolding, ladders, and internal barge
or boat structural components. \n Exposure to sound levels
exceeding 100 decibels. \n Must possess sufficient visual acuity,
peripheral vision, depth perception, and night vision to inspect
marine components and systems, identify defects or irregularities,
and safely operate tools and equipment. \n May work in confined
spaces with limited ventilation. \n Requires prolonged periods of
sedentary work, including sitting and/or standing. \n May be
required to operate machinery, power tools, and/or heavy equipment.
\n Must be able to communicate effectively to exchange and
comprehend information. \n Frequent exposure to extreme weather
conditions, including high heat and extreme cold. \n Must be able
to lift and carry 20 lbs. or more, depending on the task
