Job Description Job Description MHI Ship Repair & Services is a
major marine repair and conversion contractor serving the U.S.
Navy, Military Sealift Command, Maritime Administration and
Commercial ship owners and operators worldwide. Our shipyard is
conveniently located in the Mid-Atlantic region at the port of
Hampton Roads, Norfolk Virginia. MHI is looking for skilled and
semi-skilled candidates to join our facilities department. Open
positions range from Handyperson – Specialist. Duties may include
plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, shipboard services, or
other duties requiring some degree of skill. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Completes daily assignments under the direction of the Facilities
Lead person. Assignments will vary depending on the area of
specialty. follows all safety rules and regulations. Utilizes
appropriate tools to complete tasks. Operates forklift, man lifts,
and rental equipment as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High
school diploma or equivalent. One to five years of related work
experience. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and
procedures within a particular specialty. Must be able to read
instructions and follow simple diagrams. Must be able to perform
tasks independently after given specific instructions. Must be
