Therefore, the writer must be comfortable adapting to and researching different topics to be able to write about a wide variety of services as well as standard proposal sections like management plans, staffing plans, etc.This position offers oppportunities to earn performance bonuses through proposal wins, full benefits package with health, dental, optical and life insurance included and the ability to telework after first probationary hire period of 30 calendar days is successfully completedResponsibilities* Compose, proofread and copyedit military-defense proposal content, as well as responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Sources Sought Notices (SSNs).* The content will be technical in nature, requiring acute accuracy, but also must be persuasive and compelling to sell our company's services to the government* Initiate and lead writing, editing and layout of proposals and technical reports, including developing requirements traceability matrixes, proposal win themes, executive summaries, storyboards, outlines, proposal page and volume templates and similar tools to enable rapid and compliant proposal generation* Collaborate with the Director of Strategic Development to ensure the selected proposal win theme and overall strategy is aligned with the statement of work, client expectations and SJS Executives capabilities* Write and edit past performance citations, capabilities statements and responses to Federal Government RFIs, RFPs and IDIQs* Design or suggest graphics for written proposal material, if needed; interface with graphic designer, if required* Participate in proposal strategy, brainstorming and review sessions throughout the lifecycle of each proposal; demonstrate success as a contributing team member for proposal development and contract capture efforts* Create proposal development schedules and action item lists, meet proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and assisting with establishing target dates for information gathering, writing, review and approval activities; enter and monitor proposal tracking data; coordinate requirements with contributors and provide proposal status information at review meetings* Prepare proposals for submission by evaluating text, graphics, formatting and binding and coordinating printing, packaging and delivery; may include outsourcing and managing printing and binding jobs using a vendor such as FedEx Office* Evaluate and recommend continuous improvements to the proposal development and capture processRefine and expand the existing Proposal Library on a secure SharePoint site* Complete other projects as assigned by management. These could include searching for and vetting new business opportunities, reviewing RFP/ RFQ/ RFI options, reviewing Sources Sought Notices, researching competitors, labor categories or industries, performing salary and compensation research, developing other written presentations, etcSkill Set: * Demonstrated experience in developing multi-volume proposals, to include indefinite delivery and indefinite quantity (IDIQ) proposals, within condensed timelines.* Experience in coordinating team members to accomplish proposal goals and submittal objectives, often on tight timelines.* Experience composing Technical volumes as well as Past Performance volumes in military-defense proposals* Must be timely, precise, adaptive and capable of meeting stringent proposal submittal deadlines as well as ensuring both internal and external proposal staff members comply with data call milestones and deadline* Must be willing to occasionally work irregular hours such as nights, weekends or holidays, based on government-imposed proposal deadlines and requirements* Must be capable and willing to perform multiple proposal development tasks, duties and functions in parallel to complete proposals on time every time* Must be capable, comfortable with and willing to collaborate in a team-based environment and communicate both positive and negative information clearly and succinctly to supervisors and senior leadership in a timely and diplomatic fashion regarding proposal development. This includes requesting additional resources to meet proposal development milestones* Must be able to diplomatically accept constructive criticism of his or her writing and work as well as be able to handle multiple change requests, which are inevitable during the proposal process, as the government often issues multiple amendments.* Must be detail-oriented and exacting with spelling, punctuation, format requirements and mechanics* Adept at Microsoft Word including automated formatting features like Styles, Table of Contents, tables and graphs, etc.* Understand Microsoft Excel basics* Familiarity with Associated Press style is a plusQualifications* Pervious experience composing, compiling and collaborating on winning Navy Seaport-e or Navy Seaport Next Generation proposals* Provide three (3) or more professional writing samples of three (3) or more pages in length, preferably Navy Seaport material with proprietary data redacted* Be able to pass drug screen and background check* Able to work within the U.S. SJS Executives, LLC is EOE, AA, M/F/Vet/Disability compliant.
