Bookkeeper/Accounting Coordinator

Job Description:

The Coordinator will be responsible for performing accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payables, receivables, general ledger reconciliation, and taxes, as well as ensuring the accuracy and timely delivery of financial statements and related reports to appropriate stakeholders. Ensuring Assistance with the administration of Employee BenefitsAccounting FunctionsPost invoices in Quick Books accounting system.Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner. This includes obtaining timekeeping data, vacation/PTO use, inputting salary adjustments, tax allocations, insurance deductions, and processing garnishments and liens.Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner. File paid invoices and statements.Research vendor statements and resolve discrepancies as they arise.Perform routine accounting audits to ensure accuracy and ensure proper checks and balances mechanisms are in place.Monthly filing of sales tax and admissions tax and filing of other tax requirements like unemployment.Process checks accurately prior to printing them.Keep abreast of payroll processing requirements, changes in wage and tax laws in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Handle conflict resolution process for employee issues as well as troubleshoot system issues.Benefits AdministrationAssist in Open Enrollment process for health and wellness insurance.Serve as a point of contact for employees and vendors inquiries regarding benefits and insurance coverages. Have the ability to discuss insurance details in laymans terms.Maintain files and records of individual employee benefits paperwork and/or documentation.Participate in yearly benefit Renewal and Yearly Review meetings.Maintain personnel files in accordance with applicable laws. Adhere to retention policies and storage requirementsEducationAssociates degree in Finance, Accounting or business administration-field preferred.Minimum (2) years of progressively responsible experience in Accounting or any equivalent combination of training and experience to include Accounting, Finance, Payroll and Benefits Administration, preferred.Experience/Skills RequirementsMust have solid experience in Accounting principles and function, including QuickBooks.Up-to-date knowledge of administrative practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to employment, wage, and hour laws, benefits administration, HR best practices.Excellent computer skills are required with proficiency in MS Office applications, including, but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams. Payroll/HRIS system experience preferred.Knowledge of payroll and unemployment tax filingsKnowledge of sales tax filing returns a plus.Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.Demonstrate a high level of integrity, discretion, strong work ethic, and professionalism.Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsSHRM Certification and/or Payroll Professional Certification, a plus#ORGby Jobble
