Job Description Hydraulics and Ship Controls Mechanical
Engineering Technician The GBS Group has an exciting opportunity
for an Engineering TechnicianAs an Air Systems Electrical
Engineering Technician with GBS, you will work both independently
and with a team of professional engineers and technicians at MARMC
on complex projects related to Naval ship systems platformsThe
position will provide system troubleshooting and repair and
assessments of equipmentDemonstrated experience with mechanical
operation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and assessment of
US Navy Auxiliary equipment to include, but not limited to:
Shipboard Hydraulics' Systems, Hydraulic Controls Systems, Steering
Systems, Anchor Windlass Systems, and Controllable Pitch Propeller
(CPP) SystemsSpecialized experience shall be demonstrated in
troubleshooting and assessment of US Naval Steering, Anchor
Windlass, and CPP Systems equipment, in the official capacity of a
SME for either a US Navy Engineering Activity, OEM, or
industrial/commercial activityHydraulics and Ship Control
Mechanical Engineering Technician responsibilities include the
following:--- Conduct specified engineering/technical evaluations
and perform equipment functional checks.--- Perform
troubleshooting, testing, analysis, operational oversight,
maintenance oversight, diagnose operational faults for installed US
Navy systems specified in the requirements.--- Provide training to
ship's force personnel as an integral part of every shipboard task
in the operation, repair, maintenance, and logistics support of the
listed systems.--- Provide support for shipboard Hull, Mechanical,
and Electrical (HM&E) tasks including, but not limited to,
Total Ship Readiness Assessments (TSRA), Combat Systems Command
Control Communications and Computer Readiness assessment (C5RA),
Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) programs, and Fleet Tech
Assist (FTA) eventsQualifications Candidates for this position must
possess the following professional experience and
qualifications:--- Minimum of 12 years' experience on applicable
systems.--- Demonstrated working knowledge of Navy assessment
programs, ship visit procedures, and post-visit reporting
methods.--- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, assessing, and
inspecting shipboard systems and equipment.--- Demonstrate proper
techniques for identifying causes of equipment casualties.---
Demonstrated ability to interpret wiring diagrams, control
schematics, and piping drawings.--- Demonstrated recent experience
(within two years) maintaining and operating the systems listed in
system requirements section.--- Demonstrated computer/laptop
hardware and software proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite
applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook),
necessary for compiling information and developing reports as
required by the respective C250 Branch Head.--- Provide strong
organizational and technical skills and the ability to perform
detail-oriented workFurthermore, the contractor shall be
self-motivated, customer oriented, possess strong analytic and
communication (oral and written) skills.--- Possess the ability to
review, update, and close assigned jobs in the prescribed
