of America)Sentara Health is hiring a Pharmacy Intern for Sentara
Norfolk General Hospital Inpatient Pharmacy in Norfolk, VA!Status:
Flexi (8 hours per pay period)Work hours: Rotating shift. Mostly
dayshift. Requirement is one weekend per month working in the IV
room (after being trained). Flexible schedule depending on
school/student rotations. Location: Sentara Norfolk General
Hospital in Norfolk, VA.Job responsibilities: Responsible for
managing the drug distribution system and providing technical
support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient
focused and cost efficient drug therapy. Prepare medications under
the direction of a pharmacist. Manages patient drug therapy in
accordance with the medical staff approved clinical practice
standards under the direction of a pharmacist. Serves as the
primary resource for drug information within the hospital and
assures the appropriateness of all physician medication orders
under the direction of a pharmacist.Required qualifications:
Will consider pharmacy students with active intern license, new
graduated pharmacists and pharmacy interns not licensed in
Virginia/NC due to relocation. Must have Virginia or North Carolina
(applicable to location) license within 90 days of Sentara start
date.
Registered with the State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy
intern.
Employee is required to register as a pharmacy intern with the
State Board of Pharmacy.
BLS required within six months of hire.Qualifications:Basic Life
Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)
RQI, Pharmacy Intern License - State license - North Carolina Board
of Pharmacy (NCBOP), Pharmacy Intern License - State license -
Virginia Department of Health Professionals (VADHP)SkillsSentara
